MIN. OF EDUCATION INAUGURATES NIGERIAN EDUCATION WEBSITE
Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, Minister of Education recently in Abuja inaugurated the Nigerian Education Website, www.nigeria-education.org in partnership with the UK department for international Development (DFID). This is aimed at improving the education sector of the country.
Shekarau encouraged practitioners in the sector to make appropriate use of the site to improve their work, not forgetting to urge all government agencies to make maximum use to the giant development to facilitate the achievement of their objectives.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Dr. Mac John Nwaobiala who represented the Minister stated that “the website is reckoned as a tool in gathering and making information available to planners and researchers”.
“I anticipate that this valuable new resource will inform and contribute to the important work that we are all doing in securing improved access to quality education in Nigeria. Our future success is not only based on the quality of our education system but also on the ability to generate information about it.”
“The website covers information on diverse areas of education, including access, gender, governance, quality, and particularly teachers”, he said.
