Thieves Kills Student Over Handset In Minna
A student, identified as Mohammed Abubakar Nagenu, was killed by thieves in Sango area of Minna, Niger State after they tried to rob him of his handset.
It was reported that the deceased met his untimely end around 6pm last Friday when hoodlums, numbering about five, accosted him and demanded for his cell phone.
It was gathered that he gave them his phone as requested but begged for his Sims cards, a demand which irked the hoodlums and they stabbed him till he gave up.
The residents of the area who confirmed the incident said that he youths are notorious for forcefully collecting phones from passersby and have remained unpunished.
The uncle of the late Nagenu, Mallam Mohammed Ndagi, said the case had been reported to the Chanchaga police division and three of the boys known to his family were arrested.
The late 21-year old Mohammed Nagenu was seeking admission into the university in Minna.
